The key to a successful home renovation is creating a space that truly reflects the personalities and lifestyles of those who live there (and in this case, it was our very own Trent Bauman and his wife Juanita Metzger)!
By making the kitchen approximately 12” narrower, we eliminated the original awkward angles and created an efficient, sleek galley layout. Custom cabinetry was carefully crafted to use every remaining angled corner, leaving no unused space.
Renovating a condo comes with its own set of challenges, from navigating elevator dimensions to move tools, equipment, and materials, to working respectfully alongside the neighbours. Through regular communication with building staff and tenants, the project ran smoothly from start to finish, reflecting our philosophy of Putting People First and respecting everyone involved every step of the way.
As one of the most distinctive elements of the home, the stunning spiral staircase was transformed into a true statement piece. Rather than minimizing it, we leaned in, stripping it back and repainting it in a bold colour that instantly commands attention and appreciation for its sculptural form.
Throughout the unit, nearly all of the wiring was replaced and every finish updated, requiring careful planning and coordination, while the kitchen underwent a major reconfiguration to improve both function and flow.

We used Dekton countertops for the very first time, a carbon-neutral, ultra compact porcelain surface that looks similar to quartz, marble, and granite while offering exceptional durability and scratch resistance, making it a sophisticated choice for a modern kitchen that balances beauty with everyday practicality.
To bring texture and dimension to the kitchen, a mix of streamlined and sculpted green tile styles create clean simplicity with subtle visual interest in the backsplash.
With light-coloured hardwood and tile flooring throughout the home, the space feels even brighter and more open, while refinements to the original floor plan significantly improved how the space flows and functions as a whole.
