In this renovation project, a primary suite underwent a significant transformation. The primary suite was originally a massive area with a walk-in closet, a smaller ensuite bathroom, and a primary bedroom. The layout was reconfigured to create a spacious and open suite that would then be the envy of anyone longing for more utility and space.
The walk-in closet was removed, and the space was then utilized to expand the ensuite bathroom. Engineering and structural work were done on the ceiling joists to create an alcove for custom built-in closets with ample storage space. To accommodate the homeowner's request for closet lighting, sensors were integrated into the cabinetry so that lights automatically turn on when the closet doors are opened. This allows one spouse to get ready for their early start to the day without fumbling in the dark or disturbing their partner. Talk about Putting People (you live with) First!!
The millwork, including the closet, bedroom furniture, vanity, and floating shelves were all crafted by the talented team at Cabinet Effects, creating a cohesive look throughout the entire suite. All plumbing fixtures came from Watermarks Boutique, while the tile flooring and carpeting came from Rich-Craft Interiors.
The ensuite bathroom showcases a beautiful choice of porcelain floor tile with a matte and rustic patina finish. The shower walls are a cultured marble, an extremely customizable and cost-effective material, made right here in Waterloo Region by Marble Tradition. Cultured marble allows for a clean and groutless finish in the shower with very few seam lines, at a fraction of the cost of tile.
