We are back with another recent Waterloo renovation project to share with you. Art and Barb recently decided the time was right to give their primary suite a chic and eclectic renovation, and we just love the results!
They wanted the vibe for the space to feel like a boutique hotel, and the results of this Waterloo renovation are bang on! The Janzens had always dreamed of a fireplace in their bedroom so it was the perfect time to add one in. And that beautiful painting above the fireplace? It is actually the Samsung Frame TV which allows them to display artwork through a subscription or by uploading their own. The TV is great as it has less than a 2″ profile and simply looks like a framed piece of art!
We worked with Bast Home Comfort to select and install a Valor L1 Linear Fireplace with a system called Heat Shift, which moves the hot air up to a grill near the ceiling to allow for the TV to be mounted closer to the fireplace.
The original ensuite bath was a three piece with a tub/shower combo, toilet and vanity. Rather than expanding the budget significantly to make the space larger, Art & Barb decided to remove the tub and replace it with a walk-in shower using the same footprint. The design is really simple and open with a furniture style vanity, smaller mirror and wall sconces.
The third element of this Waterloo renovation was the home office which received the least amount of attention, but enough to give it a new feel and tie it in with the rest of the space. Our team installed a shiplap wall feature here which ties all three spaces together with the same texture, as one wall in the bathroom has it, as does the fireplace. The office is carpeted to match the bedroom and then a small stretch of flooring in between the office and bedroom was done in hardwood to tie the space into the rest of the house.
