Union Gas has stepped up to offer a rebate program for its customers. The rebate program is simple and straight forward. To qualify you need:

  • An active Union Gas account
  • A natural gas furnace or boiler
  • To own a detached residential house built in 1994 or earlier

You must also complete pre and post-renovation energy assessments and complete at least two of the eligible renovation projects that save a minimum of 550 m3 of gas a year. The maximum rebate is $ 2,500.00 and includes up to $ 500.00 to cover the energy assessments.

There are a large number of renovation projects that are eligible. They range from basement insulation, wall and ceiling insulation, replacement of furnaces, boilers and water heaters, air sealing and window and door replacement. Many of these types of projects are part of other larger projects. For instance if you are finishing your basement then you might qualify for the basement insulation and window replacement rebates or if you are building an addition you might qualify for the furnace replacement and attic insulation rebates.

Planning ahead is the key to make effective use of the rebate program. It is easy to get started. When you are thinking of your next renovation project give Trent at Menno Martin Contractor a call at 519-664-2245 to talk in more detail about how you might qualify.
