Our team at Menno S. Martin works really hard throughout the year and we wanted to recognize all of their efforts by treating them to a summer celebration at Art’s house in Waterloo.
The fun started with a rainy set-up and a small snag with the food truck breaking down, but as renovators we are quite accustomed to making changes on the fly so we made up a plan B and everything turned out perfectly. We had beautiful weather the day of the event, and the tent provided by Brad and Phil from Huron Perth Tent Rentals gave us all a shady spot to eat.
A feast with WOW factor!
Chef Scotty Yates, pulled off a fantastic evening starting with an outdoor chacuterie, then served up an amazing gnocchi with a butter chicken, brisket and coleslaw on a pretzel bun and a variety of salads. Dinner ended with a bang, with homemade ice cream using liquid nitrogen creating the ‘WOW’ factor for our feast.
Sounds of the Celebration
We thought it would be a nice touch to include live music so local husband and wife duo Hannah and Kurtis Wright played two amazing indie/folk sets with their guitar and banjo. It was fun to see the neighbour’s out on their decks enjoying the sounds of the evening.
Special Guests
Previous Menno owners Laverne and Ella joined the fun and the team welcomed back Thomas Reimer who left Menno in July. It was nice having everyone together again for the celebration.
Our team had spent the afternoon before the party throwing horseshoes so we carried the fun into the evening with a few games of yard ring toss. We also had access to a drone from Art’s neighbour that took some photos we hope to share on social media with you shortly.
It was a wonderful evening celebrating our hard working crew at Menno S. Martin Contractor Limited and we are so grateful for all of the folks who helped us pull everything off! Thank you to our team for all they do!
