Little Libraries of KW is a grass roots initiative to promote literacy and share the love of reading. People build small boxes to sit in their front yards and fill the boxes with books that can be taken, read, returned or exchanged. Tom Nagy was instrumental in bringing the concept to Kitchener-Waterloo and has been sharing his passion for books and community.

Tom approached us at Menno Martin Contractor to help get the initiative underway. Local woodworker David Keller developed two prototype kits. Our capable carpenters designed an assembly ready kit for community members to build themselves. The idea has really caught on in the Kitchener-Waterloo with close to 50 kits being built so far and more to come as word spreads.
Finished libraries are popping up all over the Twin Cities. Look for one in your neighbourhood or better yet connect with Little Libraries KW and build one for your street.
