“Woke up, fell out of bed,<\/em><\/strong>
\nDragged a comb across my head<\/em><\/strong>
\nFound my way downstairs & drank a cup,<\/em><\/strong>
\nAnd looking up I noticed I was late …….”<\/em><\/strong>
\nThis is a day in the life for the character in the Beatles song. A typical day in the life of a carpenter starts in a similar way but goes off in many different directions.\"DSC_0018\"<\/a><\/p>\n

6:15  <\/strong> Wake up
\n6:20   <\/strong>Ready for work, all the home life routines (shower, kids, breakfast)
\n7:30   <\/strong>Arrive at work. Start to coordinate sub-trades, materials, inspections
\n8:00  <\/strong> Arrive at jobsite. Set up for the day, review scheduling, organize site equipment, review safety
\n8:15   <\/strong>Steel beams arrive on delivery truck.
\n8:30  <\/strong> Crane arrives and starts to set up.
\n9:00  <\/strong> Beams are boomed into place.\"DSC_0040\"<\/a>
\n10:00 <\/strong>Start back framing around beams.
\n10:30<\/strong> Morning break has arrived.
\n10:45<\/strong> More framing at steel beams.
\n12:00<\/strong> Lunch -Glad 2 sandwiches were packed today.
\n12:30<\/strong> Call plumber, electrician, welder & building inspector
\n1:00  <\/strong> Call lumberyard to place order for tomorrow.
\n1:15  <\/strong> Go inside and start framing interior wall sections.
\n3:00  <\/strong> Afternoon break
\n3:15  <\/strong> Speak with homeowner to give progress update and confirm millwork details.
\n3:30  <\/strong> Call cabinet maker to discuss final millwork details for cabinet installation 8 weeks later.
\n4:45  <\/strong> Clean-up site for the day.
\n5:00  <\/strong> Leave jobsite for home>
\n5:01  <\/strong> Glance back at those steel beams -happy to see so much progress today.
\n5:30  <\/strong> Home for the evening (family, friends, sports, dinner)
\n1:15  <\/strong> Wake up to solve a problem mulling around in brain all day -the answer is clear now!
\n1:30  <\/strong> Back to sleep -the alarm comes early and another day awaits.<\/p>\n

Every day is different but the common threads are: hard work, satisfying the client, thinking ahead and juggling many tasks to achieve a fantastic finished project.
\nHey, that Beatles song is still stuck in my head…. “Found my coat & grabbed my hat, made the bus……”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
