Martin, we are just grateful for the good, and there has been a lot of it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brightest ray of sunshine in our year was that our clients have really been fantastic throughout all the challenges of 2020, but of course, we weren\u2019t surprised as we work with the best kinds of people!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, of course, you know already that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/meet-the-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our incredible, dedicated staff<\/a> stepped right up and are doing a great job navigating these times as well! We commend them all for their efforts, kindness, consideration and positive outlook as they continue to offer amazing service and skill on every project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They have come to work each day with energy and enthusiasm, even though it hasn\u2019t exactly been business-as-usual, due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>material shortages<\/li><li>increased lead times for just about everything<\/li><li>communicating through masks<\/li><li>contact tracing protocols<\/li><li>physical distancing (some unique challenges there, but we\u2019ve done it!)<\/li><li>increased sanitizing each day<\/li><li>working from home for some of us<\/li><li>working around our clients, as most of them are now working from home<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All in all, we\u2019ve relied on our <em>Putting People First<\/em> philosophy as we made each new decision about halting work, and then how we slowly started up again, with all our new protocols in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Celebrations, done differently!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As we looked forward to the holiday season, we were unsure how we would celebrate the holidays with our staff. In years past we would book a venue, cater in food and drink and enjoy an evening together with our families.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For 2020 celebrations, we had <a href=\"https:\/\/littlemushroomcatering.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Little Mushroom Catering<\/a> create a delicious feast which was delivered to everyone\u2019s homes, along with wine and beer and desserts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stonecrockbakery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Stone Crock Bakery<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"556\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-17-at-10.42.30-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2704\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-17-at-10.42.30-AM.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-17-at-10.42.30-AM-300x278.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Not quite the same as raising a glass in person, but still fun, festive and it was great to see everyone&#8217;s photos of their festive tables and special outfits for our uniquely 2020 team dinner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also gifted everyone with curated buckets of goodies from some of our favourite local vendors that included gourmet treats and snacks, games and gifts, plus gift cards and a Christmas bonus!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-16-at-1.55.39-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2697\" width=\"600\" height=\"508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-16-at-1.55.39-PM.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.mennosmartin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Screen-Shot-2020-12-16-at-1.55.39-PM-300x254.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Huge thanks to our awesome partners!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are always grateful to work with such wonderful people, but this year, more than ever, they have shown up for us and our clients in meaningful ways.
