Art Janzen

Art JanzenCo-Owner

Art Janzen holds the position of Operations Manager and is a Co-Owner of Menno S. Martin Contractor.

Art's background is in Business Administration, Graphic Design, and Marketing; His passion is for People and Leadership and he believes that at Menno S. Martin Contractor Limited, we are not only building structures, we are building relationships. He is very detail oriented and a creative thinker and divides his time between the office, working with our management team on various projects; ensuring safety in the field, and expanding our client base. On top of all that, he's even a pretty handy guy.

Art is a member of The Waterloo Region Home Builders Association sitting on the Renovation Council both Locally and Provincially. He is also a member of the Centre for Family Business and a member of The Leadership Waterloo Region Class of 2010.

Outside of his career, Art has a passion for fitness and keeps in shape by runninig and cycling, completing his first Half Marathon in September 2009 with his sights on a Full Marathon in 2010. He volunteers his time with the Laurel Creek Track and Field Club where he enjoys watching his daughter train and values time spent with his lovely wife and daughter.

Trent Bauman

Trent BaumanCo-Owner

Trent Bauman holds the position of Design/Build Manager and is a Co-Owner of Menno S. Martin Contractor Limited.

Trent has been part of the sales and design team at Menno S Martin Contractor since 1987. A graduate in Architectural Technology, Trent has worked hard and well at making a good fit of the changing technology of design work, and the ageless skills of craftsmanship.

Trent’s talents lie with pen and paper, or mouse and monitor. He is able to guide the process of building from the design stage, helping with selections, and managing the project to its successful completion. He is a good listener, and can put your ideas on paper for you to visualize.

Trent enjoys volunteering by sitting on the Board of Directors of the House of Friendship, and Chairing the Property Committee. He keeps in shape with his passion for yoga, cycling and running.

Mark Bauman

Mark BaumanDesign/Build Manager

Mark Bauman is a proud member of the Quarter Century Club at Menno S Martin Contractor. Since 1974, he has perfected his carpentry skills, first as a Journeyman Carpenter in the field, and then taking many new challenges and responsibilities in the office as part of our design and sales team.

Mark is a craftsman, designer, project manager, and problem solver. He thrives on challenging projects like tying in an addition to a house and making it look like it has always been there. His field experience allows him to quickly assess if a project can be done, how to best do it, and putting your ideas on paper. Mark can help you with any of your renovation needs.

After hours, Mark enjoys giving back to the community with his involvement as a Woolwich Township Councilor, as an organizer and promoter of the Woolwich Area Trails, and with other volunteering in his church and community.

Trudy Leahey

Trudy LeahyOffice Manager

Trudy Leahey holds the position of Office Manager at Menno S. Martin Contractor Limited which includes the roles of Finance Manager, handling all areas of accounting for the company and Human Resources Manager.

Trudy has a strong work ethic and determination to work with the whole team to get tasks done as efficiently as possible. She's always eager to share her ideas and listen to the ideas of others which keeps the team running smothly.

In her free time, Trudy enjoys spending time with family and friends and with a passion for travel is always thinking about her next adventure in life.

 
Laverne Brubacher

Laverne BrubacherChairman of the Board

Laverne Brubacher has been a part of Menno S Martin Contractor since 1965.  He became an owner in 1968 and in 1976 bought controlling interest in the company from the company founder – Menno S Martin.  Menno retired in the late 1970’s.

The seamless transition to the Third Generation began in January 2010 when Art Janzen and Trent Bauman bought an initial stake in the company.  Over the next number of years, Art and Trent’s ownership will increase.

During Laverne’s 45 years with the company, he was actively involved in the Home Builders Association at the local, provincial and national levels.  In acknowledgement of his contributions to the industry, Laverne has received numerous awards and recognitions over the years.

Laverne volunteers his time as Chair of the J Steckle Heritage Homestead Board,  Chair the the Sprucelawn Apartments for Seniors Board, member of the Program Advisory Committee for the Renovation Technician Program at Conestoga College, and various other church and community boards.
